Offer a wave or a chance to watch beside a familiar adult. Do not make a greeting or photo a requirement.
Tell guests where to gather and explain that joining the photo or asking a question is optional. Have an adult ready to guide the group.
No. Ask us to confirm the requested theme, program details, timing, costs, and availability before treating plans as final.
For a Pulcifer, Wisconsin celebration, keep the plan grounded in the exact space you intend to use. A statewide listing for one Wisconsin shelter does not confirm local facilities or rules. Once the venue is checked, give the character visit a simple shape: a welcoming hello, an optional group photo, and room for children to watch or rejoin when ready. Assign an adult to welcome guests and help keep the group together. Ask us about the requested theme; program details, costs, and availability require confirmation.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Wisconsin DNR describes the reservable picnic shelter at its MacKenzie Center and its booking route through the State Parks reservation system. Treat this as one state-managed facility example: check the actual shelter, nearby facilities and conditions with the operator. Confirm permission for a hired character visit; the listing does not establish rules for every Wisconsin park.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
