Yes. Offer a choice to wave, join a group activity or watch. Keep the character's first approach calm and let the birthday child set the pace.
Prepare the location details, expected group size and the child's preferred greeting. Share any timing needs with us so the program can be discussed clearly.
No. A request does not reserve a visit or take payment. Our team must confirm the date, availability, program details and cost.
A relaxed Ranchos Taos celebration can give the birthday child time to warm up before the character arrives. Keep the greeting flexible: the child might wave from a parent's side, share a quick photo or simply watch the first activity. Invite guests to join a simple song or movement game, while making participation optional. When you ask us, describe the space, group and the child's favorite kind of interaction so the visit can be discussed around your plans. Confirm the program, cost and availability with our team, and check the location's arrangements directly.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
New Mexico State Parks directs visitors to specific park pages for group shelter reservations. Review the chosen facility's current conditions, operating information and alerts rather than applying one set of amenities to every park. Ask the operator about your gathering and hired entertainment before committing to the location.

National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
