Let them watch from a familiar adult's side. Offer a small choice, such as waving or saying hello, without requiring a hug or photo.
Tell guests where the greeting will happen and who is coordinating photos. Keep a clear path for the character and room for children who prefer to observe.
No. A ZIP code or date request does not reserve or pay for a visit. Ask us to confirm the requested theme, program, cost, and availability.
For Randolph, Ohio, give the organizer one clear job before party day: keep the greeting calm and know where everyone will go if weather changes. A child can meet the character from a caregiver's side, choose a wave or conversation, and join a photo when ready. Keep any activity short enough for guests to participate or watch comfortably. These are statewide planning checks and parent suggestions, not verified Randolph venues or policies. Ask us to confirm the character theme, program, cost, and availability; verify venue rules yourself.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.

National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
