Let the child stay with a familiar adult and choose between waving, watching or approaching. Avoid making a hug or photo part of the expectation.
Invite guests to join one brief wave or simple activity, then allow the birthday child to decide whether to take photos.
Ask about the specific facility, reservation conditions and whether hired entertainment is permitted. Confirm theme-visit details with our team separately.
For a Rubonia celebration, give the birthday child a comfortable place to watch before inviting them to meet the character. A wave, a quick hello beside a parent or a later photo can all count as participation. Keep the program manageable with a greeting and one easy group activity, then leave room for guests to take turns. If you are considering a state-managed site, first identify the exact property and ask its operator about the gathering. Confirm character program details, costs and availability with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Florida DEP describes the Florida Park Service and links to its state park information. Identify the exact state-managed property, then ask about the relevant group facility, reservation process and operating conditions. Describe hired entertainment to the operator before booking; the agency overview does not establish birthday eligibility, permission or availability at a particular park.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
