Let them watch or wave first and offer a photo later. Keep the choice private and do not make a greeting or pose compulsory.
Choose a clear greeting area, explain that participation is optional and invite guests to take turns for photos.
No. A date and ZIP code are requests, not a reservation or payment. Confirm the theme-provider program, costs and availability.
For a Smithville, Missouri, celebration, keep the character's first few minutes simple: greet the birthday child, pause for a wave or hello, then offer a photo if they are ready. Guests can take turns joining rather than gathering all at once. If you are considering a state park location, check whether the space is an enclosed room or an open shelter and confirm requirements with the operator. Statewide guidance does not verify Smithville venues. Share your date, ZIP code and requested theme with our team; program details, costs and availability must be confirmed.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Missouri State Parks says enclosed shelters, venues and meeting rooms require advance reservations. Check the exact facility type and current booking conditions, since open picnic shelters can follow a different process. Confirm the gathering layout and permission for a hired character visit with the operator; this policy does not establish entertainer availability.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
