Let children choose a solo photo, a group picture or no picture. A familiar adult can stay beside them.
Invite children to offer a greeting or help select one easy activity. Keep watching as a valid choice.
Ask us about program details, cost and availability. Check the venue's access, event procedures and permission for hired entertainment.
In Snowmass Village, a relaxed character visit can give children a clear role without making anyone perform: welcome the guest, help choose a simple group activity or wait for a turn in photos. Set the gathering area before choosing the program, especially if you are considering an outdoor spot. These are statewide planning checks and parent suggestions, not verified Snowmass Village venues or local policies. Ask us to confirm the character visit's program details, cost and availability, and check with the selected venue about permission and logistics.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife explains that group-area amenities vary by state park. Check the actual shelter, surface, seating and access arrangements for the chosen group area before planning games or a character entrance. Ask the park about the proposed hired entertainment and any event procedures; listed amenities do not establish approval or availability.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
