Start with a wave from a comfortable distance, then let the child choose whether to approach. Ask our team about a calm introduction and options for children who would rather observe.
Invite guests to choose between watching, waving or joining a short group activity. Keep the birthday child's photo moment near the start, before the group gets restless.
Share the planned location, visit timing, age range and participation preferences. Confirm program details, costs, availability and any venue permissions separately.
For a Steilacoom celebration, decide where guests will gather before choosing how the character enters. A familiar adult can introduce the visitor, invite the birthday child to wave or pose, then offer guests a choice to watch or join a simple activity. That rhythm keeps the visit manageable for mixed ages. Tell our team about the room or outdoor setup and any child who may prefer extra space. Program details, costs and availability need confirmation; a request does not reserve a date.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Washington State Parks identifies reservation types that require its call center. Check the actual facility type and booking channel before trying to secure a picnic shelter or group space online. Verify access, setup and permission for hired entertainment separately with the operator; a reservation route is not event approval.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
