Let them watch with a trusted adult and offer a wave or distant photo instead. Participation should be optional and guided by the child.
Check the exact reservation conditions, setup access, gathering layout and permission for hired entertainment. Do not assume a general park reservation covers a party.
No. Discuss the requested theme and possible program with our team; details, costs and availability require confirmation.
In Sublimity, a relaxed visit can begin with the character greeting the birthday child by name, then waiting nearby while the child gets comfortable. Set aside a clear photo spot and let guests take turns joining rather than forming a crowd. A short story, wave or group pose can be enough. These are statewide planning checks and parent suggestions, not verified Sublimity venues or policies. Ask us about the requested character theme, and confirm the program, costs and availability before making plans.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Oregon State Parks accepts reservations at parks with reservable group day-use facilities as well as many campgrounds. Check the specific facility and booking conditions rather than treating all parks or campsite reservations as group-event bookings. Ask the operator about hired entertainment and any additional permission before setting the party plan.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
