Offer a choice between greeting, waving or watching beside a trusted adult. Ask us about a gentle arrival and confirm the visit plan with our team.
Start with the birthday child and a parent if they wish, then invite guests one at a time. Leave space for children who prefer not to pose.

For a Tall Timbers party, make the child's first moment the center of the plan rather than a performance for the whole room. Let them greet the character beside a trusted adult, then choose whether to join a photo or simply watch. Guests can take part in a quiet group wave before individual turns. Ask us about the requested costume theme and visit ideas; our team can confirm program details, costs and availability. Check your specific venue's rules and arrange an indoor alternative if gathering outside.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
As a city-scoped example within Maryland, Baltimore city recreation centers provide room rental information. Baltimore directs families to their recreation center for room rental information. Check the actual room capacity, permitted entertainment and setup time rather than assuming any recreation center can host the same program. This example applies only to Baltimore's listed municipal facilities; other cities and state-managed parks have separate operators and rules. Confirm the exact venue's reservation process and permission for hired entertainment.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
