Let the child watch with a trusted adult first. Offer a wave or photo only if they seem ready.
Use a simple shared activity or group photo, while making it fine for children to observe instead.
Check venue capacity, access, setup, and permission for hired entertainment. Ask us separately about program details, costs, and availability.
A small, predictable plan can help a child feel at ease during a character visit in Upper Hill. Start with a hello from a little distance, then invite the birthday child to choose a wave, photo, or brief activity. Let guests join in one at a time or stay with their family. Before reaching out, decide where the greeting will happen and who will guide children through the moment. Tell us the age range, group size, and preferred theme, then ask us to confirm program details, costs, and availability.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
As a city-scoped example within Maryland, Baltimore city recreation centers provide room rental information. Baltimore directs families to their recreation center for room rental information. Check the actual room capacity, permitted entertainment and setup time rather than assuming any recreation center can host the same program. This example applies only to Baltimore's listed municipal facilities; other cities and state-managed parks have separate operators and rules. Confirm the exact venue's reservation process and permission for hired entertainment.

National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
