Yes. Start with watching or waving, then let the child decide whether to come closer.

Share the planned timing, guest ages, space setup and any comfort preferences.
A character visit in Urb Borinquen Gdns can begin with a gentle hello rather than a big entrance. Let the birthday child see the character from a comfortable spot, with a parent close by, and offer a wave or photo only if they seem ready. For guests, one short shared activity gives an easy way to join without putting anyone on the spot. Prepare a clear arrival time and a quiet place to pause. Ask us about ideas for a visit, then confirm program details, costs and availability with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
Official source (opens in a new tab)Choose an adult to monitor the forecast and decide when to move the group indoors. National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
