In Valley Cottage, New York, make the birthday child's first encounter easy to read: let them know where the greeting will happen and who can stay beside them. Start with a wave or a few family photos, then invite guests to join a simple activity only if the group is comfortable. Before settling on an outdoor or covered space, check the exact layout and capacity against your guest list. Confirm venue permission for hired entertainment, and ask us to verify program details, cost and availability.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
New York State Parks describes a range of pavilion and event rental sizes and amenities. Check the exact facility's capacity, layout and regional booking conditions before choosing a gathering plan. Confirm whether a hired character visit and any equipment are permitted; the statewide rental page does not establish that every activity or date is available.

National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup.
