In West Gilgo Beach, plan the character visit around an easy-to-follow gathering spot and a backup for changing weather. A gentle opening can help children warm up: invite the character to wave from a little distance, then let each child choose whether to say hello or join a group photo. Keep the visit simple with a brief greeting, a favorite-song moment or story, and time for pictures. Before choosing a setting, check its size and rules. Theme-provider program details, costs and availability must be confirmed with the provider.

New York State Parks describes a range of pavilion and event rental sizes and amenities. Check the exact facility's capacity, layout and regional booking conditions before choosing a gathering plan. Confirm whether a hired character visit and any equipment are permitted; the statewide rental page does not establish that every activity or date is available.

National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
