Offer a wave or a conversation from a comfortable distance. Let the child decide whether to move closer or join a photo.

Ask the operator about access and event permission. Confirm program details, cost and availability with our team; a date or ZIP request is not a reservation.
At Watts Bar Dam, keep the character visit simple and easy to adapt to your gathering space. Start with a quiet hello, then let the birthday child choose whether to wave, talk or stand beside the character for a photo. Guests can join one short group activity or take turns greeting the character. Since city facilities and policies are unverified, treat these as statewide planning checks and parent suggestions, not confirmed local venue rules. Confirm the visit program, cost and availability with our team, and ask the space operator about access and event permission.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Tennessee's Department of Environment and Conservation identifies its role in managing state parks and natural areas. Find the exact state-managed property and ask its operator about reservable gathering space, facilities and access conditions. Describe hired entertainment before booking; the agency overview does not establish birthday eligibility, event permission or availability.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
