Let the child watch from a trusted adult's side first. Offer a wave or photo only if they want one.
Choose a clear greeting spot and tell guests when to gather. Share the child's preferred name and any comfort needs when asking us about the visit.
No. Ask us to confirm the character, activities, cost and availability before treating the plan as settled.
For a Bay Lake birthday, make the character visit feel like a calm highlight rather than a tightly packed show. Start with a simple hello, then offer the birthday child a choice: wave from beside a parent or step forward for a photo. Guests can join a brief dance or cheer, while watching quietly remains welcome. Before contacting us, share your preferred date, general setting, guest ages and any comfort or access needs. Ask us to confirm the program, cost and availability; a date request is not a reservation.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Florida DEP describes the Florida Park Service and links to its state park information. Identify the exact state-managed property, then ask about the relevant group facility, reservation process and operating conditions. Describe hired entertainment to the operator before booking; the agency overview does not establish birthday eligibility, permission or availability at a particular park.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
