Yes. Watching, waving later or choosing a photo from a comfortable distance are all reasonable options.
Pick a simple background and ask one adult to take photos so the host can support the child.
No. A date or ZIP request is not a reservation or payment. Ask our team to confirm visit details.
A character visit in Lyon Mountain can feel easier when the birthday child knows exactly what will happen first. Tell them the character will say hello, pause for a photo if they wish, and invite guests to join only when ready. Ask us about the requested theme and visit format; program details, costs and availability need confirmation. Before choosing a gathering spot, plan the meeting area around the group's comfort and keep a quiet option open for children who want to observe.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
New York State Parks describes a range of pavilion and event rental sizes and amenities. Check the exact facility's capacity, layout and regional booking conditions before choosing a gathering plan. Confirm whether a hired character visit and any equipment are permitted; the statewide rental page does not establish that every activity or date is available.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
