Start with a brief group hello, then offer the guest of honor a wave or photo if they want one. Avoid making participation a test.
Choose a spot before the visit and have an adult help guests take turns. Keep the child free to pause or return to the group.
No specific activity should be assumed. Ask our team what is available for your requested theme, and confirm program details, costs, and availability.
In Mayfield, a simple sequence can help children know what to expect: a hello, a special moment for the guest of honor, then optional photos or a group activity. Let the child choose whether to stand beside the character or stay close to a parent. Before selecting a gathering space, verify its exact conditions with its operator. State guidance offers planning questions, not confirmation of Mayfield venues or policies. Ask us about the theme and confirm visit details, costs, and availability with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Georgia State Parks distinguishes different gathering facilities, including enclosed group shelters and open picnic shelters. Contact the relevant park before reserving to verify the actual room or shelter amenities, access and conditions. Confirm permission for hired entertainment; an enclosed facility listing does not guarantee that every proposed party activity is allowed.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
