Offer a wave first, with the child free to stay beside a trusted adult or join later.
Choose a clear, uncluttered spot and offer a quick group photo as an option, not a requirement.
Share the date, location, child's age and character theme. Confirm program details, cost and availability with our team.
For a celebration in Pedro Bay, make the character's arrival easy to follow and the activity flexible. The birthday child might wave from beside a parent before choosing a closer hello or a picture. Guests can join a short birthday greeting, then leave room for children who prefer to observe. As you plan, note the gathering location and any access considerations before asking us about a character theme. Program details, costs and availability are not assumed; confirm them with our team, and check venue arrangements with the operator.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Alaska's Refuge Cove State Recreation Site publishes an online reservation route for its picnic shelter. Check the specific shelter, date and access conditions rather than assuming every state park works the same way. Ask the operator about permission for a hired character visit; the reservation route alone does not establish that permission.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
