Ask the theme provider about program details, costs and availability. Separately confirm the venue's rules, access and permission for hired entertainment.
For a character visit in Powhatan, Louisiana, keep the plan flexible until you have confirmed where the gathering will happen. Start with a simple welcome, then offer children a choice to wave from beside a caregiver or join the character when ready. A short story, easy movement game and group photo can give the visit a gentle shape. Before you request a date, decide who will greet the performer, where children can gather and how the group will move indoors if weather changes. Program details, costs and availability must be confirmed with the theme provider.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Louisiana's Office of State Parks contact page provides a route to make and manage park reservations. Use that official route and the exact park operator to identify whether you need lodging, a shelter or another group facility. Check activity eligibility, access and permission for hired entertainment separately; the contact page does not establish approval or availability for your party.

National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
