Let the character wave while the birthday child stays beside a familiar adult. A closer hello or photo can wait until the child signals interest.
Offer watching, waving or joining a group activity as alternatives. Keep photos optional and avoid making them a condition of participation.
Contact our team with your date, setting and preferred activities. Confirm the theme-provider program, cost and availability before telling guests what to expect.
A Stovall gathering can feel easier for children when the character's arrival is simple and the activity choices are clear. Begin with a hello from a little distance, then offer a group greeting or photos for children who want them. Ask us about the requested character theme; our team can confirm program details, cost and availability. If you are considering a park setting, verify the exact facility and its conditions rather than assuming every shelter suits the plan. These are statewide planning checks, not verified Stovall venues or local policies.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Georgia State Parks distinguishes different gathering facilities, including enclosed group shelters and open picnic shelters. Contact the relevant park before reserving to verify the actual room or shelter amenities, access and conditions. Confirm permission for hired entertainment; an enclosed facility listing does not guarantee that every proposed party activity is allowed.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
