Start with a wave or hello at a comfortable distance. Let the birthday child choose whether to pose for a photo.
Offer one group activity, such as a shared pose, and make observing an equally acceptable option.
Confirm venue access, weather plans and activity rules. Ask us about the requested character theme, program details, cost and availability.
A simple plan can make a Bayard character visit easier for both children and the organizer: welcome the birthday child first, leave time for photos, then invite guests into one brief activity. Participation can mean watching as well as joining. These are statewide planning checks, not verified Bayard venues or local policies. Confirm the venue's rules and an indoor route ahead of time, and keep the schedule open to a weather change.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
Official source (opens in a new tab)Choose an adult to monitor the forecast and decide when to move the group indoors. National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
