Have the character greet the group from a comfortable distance. Children can approach, wave, or watch with a caregiver.
Invite rather than line up every child. Leave room for a child to join later or skip the photo.
Confirm facility details and entertainment permission directly with the operator. Ask our team to confirm program details, costs, and availability.
For a gathering in Canoochee, make the visit easy to join and easy to skip. The character can begin with a friendly greeting while children remain with their grown-ups; then invite them to choose a wave, a photo, or a short group moment. Keep the planned activity simple so the organizer can focus on helping guests feel comfortable. Georgia State Parks distinguishes types of gathering facilities, so verify the exact space and its rules rather than assuming an enclosed listing allows every activity. These are statewide planning checks, not verified Canoochee venues or policies.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Georgia State Parks distinguishes different gathering facilities, including enclosed group shelters and open picnic shelters. Contact the relevant park before reserving to verify the actual room or shelter amenities, access and conditions. Confirm permission for hired entertainment; an enclosed facility listing does not guarantee that every proposed party activity is allowed.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
