Start with a hello that children can observe from a distance. Let each child choose whether to wave, speak or join in.
Tell guests there will be an optional moment to join the character. Keep a familiar adult available for children who want to watch nearby.
Ask the provider about the requested theme, program, costs and availability. Confirm the venue's rules separately; a reservation route does not approve entertainment.
For Collinston, Louisiana, make the organizer's venue check a first step if you are considering a park or group facility. The state reservation contact page is a route to investigate, not confirmation of a particular Collinston space or approval for entertainment. For the visit itself, keep the greeting brief and offer children a choice to wave, join a simple activity or watch. Share the party setup and timing with the theme provider, then confirm program details, costs and availability directly. Have an adult ready to guide guests through the plan.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Louisiana's Office of State Parks contact page provides a route to make and manage park reservations. Use that official route and the exact park operator to identify whether you need lodging, a shelter or another group facility. Check activity eligibility, access and permission for hired entertainment separately; the contact page does not establish approval or availability for your party.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
