Let the child watch first or greet the character from beside a trusted adult. Participation should remain optional.
Choose a photo spot ahead of time and have one adult invite children over in small groups or one at a time.
Ask us about the requested theme, activities, timing, cost and availability. A visit request does not reserve a date.
In Deersville, Ohio, keep outdoor-party logistics from interrupting the child's special moment. A character can offer a gentle greeting, then a short birthday message and an optional photo or group game. Children can participate at their own pace, with a caregiver nearby. Before guests arrive, choose one adult to watch the forecast and another to help children move if needed. These are statewide planning checks based on national weather guidance, not verified Deersville venue rules or facilities.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.

National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
