For a gathering in Ellicott, Colorado, start by picturing how guests will move through the space. A short greeting, a few child-led photos, and one group activity can leave room for breaks. Offer the birthday child a choice between greeting the character, waving, or watching first. Prepare a clear arrival point and tell the organizer about access needs and the weather alternative. Confirm facility rules and program specifics directly; costs and availability are not assumed.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife explains that group-area amenities vary by state park. Check the actual shelter, surface, seating and access arrangements for the chosen group area before planning games or a character entrance. Ask the park about the proposed hired entertainment and any event procedures; listed amenities do not establish approval or availability.

National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
