Yes. Offer a wave, a brief hello or watching from beside a trusted adult.
Invite them to join a simple shared activity, while making it clear that observing is fine.
Ask the venue about hours, setup and entertainment permission. Ask us to confirm theme, program details, cost and availability.
A Haw River party can keep the character visit focused and easy to follow: greet the birthday child, invite guests into one short shared activity, then pause for photos. Make the photo moment optional so children can stay nearby or watch. Ask us about the requested character theme and potential program ideas; details, cost and availability need confirmation. Set your visit time only after checking the chosen location's hours and any rules for entertainment.

North Carolina State Parks notes that facilities can have limited hours. Check the exact shelter or room's permitted use period, layout and reservation conditions before setting the entertainer's arrival and departure times. Ask the park about hired entertainment separately; a facility reservation does not establish approval for all party activities.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
