Let the child choose whether to approach, wave or watch from beside a trusted adult. Avoid making a hug or posed picture part of the greeting.
Invite guests to wait nearby or take part in one short group greeting. Keep the photo area clear so the child can step away easily.
No. Ask the operator about the exact space and proposed entertainment. Confirm the requested theme's program, cost and availability with us.
For a Hillsboro gathering, a character visit can center on one small moment for the birthday child, with the rest of the group invited to join only if they wish. Start with a friendly greeting, offer a photo or brief shared activity and give the child room to watch first. Ask us what the requested theme's program includes and confirm current cost and availability. Before booking a gathering space, check the exact amenities and entertainment rules with its operator. These are statewide planning checks and parent suggestions, not verified Hillsboro venues or local policies.

Georgia State Parks distinguishes different gathering facilities, including enclosed group shelters and open picnic shelters. Contact the relevant park before reserving to verify the actual room or shelter amenities, access and conditions. Confirm permission for hired entertainment; an enclosed facility listing does not guarantee that every proposed party activity is allowed.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
