For a Jamestown, Rhode Island character visit, build the plan around one calm focal moment: let the birthday child greet the character first, then invite guests to join at their own pace. A short visit can include a group photo, a simple wave or dance, and time for children who prefer to watch before approaching. City facilities are unverified, so treat these as statewide planning checks and parent suggestions, not confirmed Jamestown venue policies. Ask us about the requested character theme; confirm program details, cost and availability with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.

National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue.
