Let the child watch from beside a trusted adult, wave, or greet the character when ready. Avoid making a close-up interaction the only option.
Share where to meet, when the character visit is expected, and what the weather backup plan is.
Do not assume so. Check the exact location, gathering facilities, access, reservations, and entertainment permission with its operator.
A character visit in Kortes Dam can feel more relaxed when the gathering space is chosen for the children, not just the scenery. Plan a clear meeting point and give the birthday child time to watch the character arrive before deciding whether to greet them. A short visit with optional photos and guest participation keeps the schedule flexible. These are statewide Wyoming planning checks, not verified Kortes Dam venues or local policies. Check the actual space and access with its operator, and confirm program details, cost, and availability with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Wyoming State Parks describes outdoor recreation at its state-managed properties and provides a park directory. Check the actual park's gathering facilities, routes and access rather than assuming a recreational trail is a suitable event space. Ask the operator about group-space reservations and hired entertainment; recreation information is not a venue recommendation or approval for your party.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
