Give the child time to watch first. A wave or a greeting from beside a caregiver can be enough.
Offer one shared greeting, then let children choose whether to join a photo or take a turn.
Provide the arrival point, schedule and a contact person. Confirm theme, program details, cost and availability with our team.
For a North Eaton party, a little structure can help the character visit feel welcoming rather than overwhelming. Plan a brief introduction, then offer the birthday child a choice: greet the character, take a photo, or watch from nearby. Guests can join a quiet group wave before taking individual turns. Ask us about the costume theme you have in mind, and confirm program details, cost and availability with our team. The organizer can help by sharing the meeting point and keeping the greeting area open for children and caregivers.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
Official source (opens in a new tab)Choose an adult to monitor the forecast and decide when to move the group indoors. National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
