Let the character greet the group first, with the child watching nearby. Offer a later hello or photo without pressure.
Invite willing children to wave or join a photo in small groups. Watching quietly is also a comfortable choice.
Check venue permission and share timing or access needs with our team. Confirm program details, costs, and availability directly.
Roslindale hosts can make the character visit feel welcoming by letting the birthday child set the pace. Begin with a friendly hello, allow time to watch from a parent's side, and offer a photo only if the child wants one. For an outdoor plan, decide in advance who watches the weather and how everyone will move indoors. Ask us about a gentle visit outline; confirm program details, costs, and availability with our team. Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.

National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
