For Roxbury, keep the visit plan simple enough that an adult can manage weather decisions without disrupting the child's special moment. Offer a gentle hello, a pause for the birthday child to settle and an optional group photo. Guests can join a short activity or watch from nearby. Share the venue type, timing, guest ages and access needs when asking our team about a character theme. Program details, costs and availability need confirmation before you plan around them.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
Official source (opens in a new tab)Choose an adult to monitor the forecast and decide when to move the group indoors. National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
