In San Remo, start the venue plan by thinking about how the group will fit into the space. A clear, comfortable spot can make a gentle character greeting easier for the birthday child and give guests room to watch or join. Let the child choose whether to pose for a photo, wave, or take time with a caregiver. Before committing to a setup, check the exact facility's capacity, layout, and rules for hired entertainment. The suggestions here are statewide planning guidance and parent ideas, not verified city venues or policies.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
New York State Parks describes a range of pavilion and event rental sizes and amenities. Check the exact facility's capacity, layout and regional booking conditions before choosing a gathering plan. Confirm whether a hired character visit and any equipment are permitted; the statewide rental page does not establish that every activity or date is available.

National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
