A Kidron, Ohio, character visit can feel more comfortable when the child knows what happens next. Explain that the character will say hello, pause for a possible photo and invite guests to join an activity only if they want. Set aside room for a parent to stay close and for children to observe without being in the center. Ask us about the requested character's program, cost and availability, and plan around confirmed details.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
Official source (opens in a new tab)Choose an adult to monitor the forecast and decide when to move the group indoors. National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
