Start with a wave or brief hello, then offer children the choice to join a group activity or keep watching.
Pick one photo spot and have an adult guide children through turns. Keep the child of honor's moment flexible if they need a pause.
No. A request is not a confirmed booking or payment. Ask us about the theme and confirm timing, program details, costs and availability with our team.
A Fort Myer character visit can leave room for children to join at their own pace. Plan a short welcome, a photo opportunity and one simple activity, with an easy option to watch from a parent's side. If the gathering depends on an outdoor area, decide in advance where everyone will go if conditions change. Virginia's available facilities and policies vary by operator, so check the exact site rather than assuming another city's example applies. Ask us about a character theme; confirm program details, costs and availability with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
As a city-scoped example within Virginia, Alexandria municipal facilities provide different picnic-season and indoor rental options. Alexandria distinguishes its picnic season from year-round indoor rentals. For a party outside the picnic season, check an indoor reservation path and verify the actual opening hours of the chosen room. This example applies only to Alexandria's listed municipal facilities; other cities and state-managed parks have separate operators and rules. Confirm the exact venue's reservation process and permission for hired entertainment.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
