A wave and a pause let the birthday child decide whether to approach, speak, or take a photo.
Invite guests to join one short greeting or photo, with watching as an equally welcome choice. Tell the character team your preferred pace.
Confirm venue permission with its operator. Ask us to verify the requested theme, program details, cost, and availability.
Ocean Drive calls for a plan that keeps the character moment focused and easy to follow. Welcome the birthday child first, allow a little space for a shy response, then offer a photo or a brief group greeting. Guests can participate with a wave or watch comfortably from the side. If considering a park setting, verify the precise facility and its rules rather than relying on a general directory. Ask us about theme and program ideas; confirm all details, cost, and availability.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
South Carolina State Parks provides an interactive map and filters for its park directory. Use the actual facility listings to check the space, seating, access and amenities required for your gathering. Ask the specific operator about reservations and hired entertainment; a map result is not a venue recommendation or approval for a party.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
