Offer a wave or a place beside a trusted adult first. Let the child decide whether to approach or take a photo.
Invite children to watch, greet the character or join a simple group moment. Keep participation optional and follow the children's lead.
Choose a date, share your ZIP code and theme request, and describe the venue and group. Confirm program details, cost and availability with our team.
In Rangely, a character visit can feel relaxed when children know what to expect and have room to warm up at their own pace. Ask us about a gentle hello, then let each child choose whether to wave, talk or watch from beside a familiar adult. A short photo moment can follow for guests who want one. Before settling on an outdoor plan, check the actual gathering space and prepare a weather alternative. Share the party date, ZIP code and preferred character theme with our team; these details begin a request, not a reservation.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife explains that group-area amenities vary by state park. Check the actual shelter, surface, seating and access arrangements for the chosen group area before planning games or a character entrance. Ask the park about the proposed hired entertainment and any event procedures; listed amenities do not establish approval or availability.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
