A character visit in Batavia, Ohio can feel easier when one adult handles the schedule and another stays with the child of honor. Start with a friendly wave or a short greeting, then pause before inviting the child into a photo. Guests can join in when invited, while the child may watch from a comfortable distance. Before party day, tell the character team who will meet them and where the group will gather. Program details, costs and availability require confirmation.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
Official source (opens in a new tab)Choose an adult to monitor the forecast and decide when to move the group indoors. National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
