Offer individual or family photos, and let children skip or watch. Keep the photo spot easy to reach and away from the main activity.
Confirm the facility's capacity and layout, its current booking conditions, and whether the character visit and any equipment are allowed.
Ask us about the requested character, program details, costs, and availability before relying on a particular schedule.
For a Round Top gathering, make the visit feel personal rather than packed: have the character greet the birthday child first, then invite guests to take turns saying hello or joining a photo. A small, optional group activity can follow, with space for children who prefer to watch. These are statewide planning checks and parent suggestions, not verified Round Top venues or local policies. Ask us to confirm the requested character's program, costs, and availability, and check venue permissions before choosing a setup.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
New York State Parks describes a range of pavilion and event rental sizes and amenities. Check the exact facility's capacity, layout and regional booking conditions before choosing a gathering plan. Confirm whether a hired character visit and any equipment are permitted; the statewide rental page does not establish that every activity or date is available.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
